Better genetics.  Our queens - originally Carniolan - are reared and mated in our own apiary 750 feet up in the Shropshire hills, so they are well adapted to thrive in the variable UK climate.  We graft larvae from our best colonies, selected for a gentle disposition.

 

Better nutrition.   To ensure that the larvae have the maximum possible nutrition, crucial in producing a quality queen, the queen cells are brought on in very strong rearer colonies.

 

Better mating.  The virgin queens are then open mated in an area flooded with choice drones, and are allowed to lay for around three weeks to demonstrate that they are well mated.

 

Result - more rewarding beekeeping for you.

Delivery: We dispatch Monday to Friday by first class post (free), or guaranteed next day delivery before 1pm: to arrive Tuesday to Friday £6 for any number of queens, Saturday £10. When available, order by 2pm and we can dispatch the same day (Mon - Fri).  Queens will arrive in an introduction cage with attendants, and a candy plug, ready to be introduced to your hive.  We can post only to Great Britain - ie England, Scotland and Wales, but not Northern Ireland.

Replacement Guarantee.  We are confident that you will be delighted with your queen(s).  But if you are not, we will replace live queens free of charge within 3 months of purchase.

Introduction to your hive:  We provide detailed guidance, which normally assures safe introduction.  But introducing a new queen to a colony is never totally risk free, and our replacement guarantee does not insure you against those risks.
